Modular Music

I’ve released a bit of new music on my SoundCloud - 2 pieces composed with my modular-Eurorack synthesizer system. Please Enjoy

A couple Eurorack pieces I thought were nice enough to share

Never Land

So excited to share a film project that’s been long in the works, caled Never Land. Directed by Brett Smith and created by his extremely talented crew and cast, this film was an absolute joy to be apart of. The post-audio was done by myself and my close friend Christian Colmenares. I’ve never had the experience of working on a project that touched me so emotionally. I hope that when you see this film you have the same experience.

The trailer was just released today along with a first round of announcements for upcoming festival screenings:

OFFICIAL SELECTIONS:

-Bermuda Internation Film Festival (Oscar qualifying)

-Flickerfest International Film Festival (Oscar qualifying)

-Boulder International Film Festival

NEVER LAND illustrates the story of an inner-city foster boy granted nothing in this world but his own strength and imagination. His only escape is through his dreams transporting him to Neverland, where all Lost Children without parents go to fit in and be loved. Coming soon...

New Music in 2018

2018 kicks off a new year of writing music. So far I've managed to write and master one track in the first week of the year, with many more to come. Hoping to keep up the pace this year as I'm playing out more than ever. Hope you enjoy!

Draw Like a Kid

Vancouver, BC based animator, Luis Gadea has created a new YouTube channel:
"Draw like a kid is a channel born in my after-work hours when I sit down and draw without worrying about making mistakes, without rules on which art supplies I use, and most importantly: to have fun like I used to when I was a kid."

I was lucky enough to be asked to sound design the show's title sequences.

Life on the Rim: Working as a Volcanologist

I had the pleasure of mixing/designing this piece for Boise film maker and personal friend, Zach Voss. This past winter Zach traveled to Qutzeltenango, Guatemala, with volcanologists to the Santiaguito Volcano complex. This documentary shows off the exciting and fascinating lives of volcanologists working in the field, complete with drone footage of volcano eruptions. What an adventure!

Bleeps & Bloops vol I

I bought a telephone pickup microphone and it's proved to be one of the most interesting (and affordable) sound design tools I've ever used. I've been trying it on every electronic device I can find. So far, devices with moving parts create the most dynamic sounds. Everything else generally creates pleasant electronic hums and buzzes. All of these sounds are perfect for sampling or manipulating in sound design projects.

For this series of recordings, I've included sounds from CD Rom drives, computer fans, and smartphones. The collection is titled, "Bleeps & Bloops vol I". I'll release additional volumes as I discover new sounds.
Use these recordings however you want and share what you create.  24/48 WAV DOWNLOAD

Big Bend National Park

I captured a few sounds while camping at Big Bend National Park. I've never experienced a park that has such diverse wildlife and terrain, not to mention its massive size. Some areas are other-worldly, with occotillo and century plants decorating open desert for miles. Canyon lands and the Rio Grande bordering the other side of the park. High mountain hikes in the Chisos Mountains provided views of Texas that I never imagined. And the night was dark enough to see the Milky Way.
I will go back when I have more time to explore. For now, here are a handful of recordings I made on my trip.
